Types of PEB

Primary structures:

H/I Beams H/I Beams in the PEB industry often refer to primary built-up members. Primary members consist of columns, rafters, beams etc. These are fabricated from high strength Gr. 50 HR plates. Plates are cut to size and shape. Built up sections a re-made form these plates in Automatic Beam Welding Line by submerged arc welding.

Primary structural framing shall refer to the transverse rigid frames, lean to rafters and column, canopy rafters, columns (beams and column frames), bearing frame rafters and corner columns, and end wall wind columns.

Members fabricated from plate or bar stock shall have flanges and webs joined on one side of the web by a continuous welding process. This plate or bar stock shall have minimum yield strength of 345 mn/m2 (50,000 psi) and will conform to the physical specifications of ASTM A572 grade 50.

Members fabricated by cold forming process shall have minimum yield strength of 345 mn/m (50000 psi) and will conform to the physical specifications of ASTM A-607 (grade 52) or equivalent.

Secondary Members:

Secondary Members in the PEB industry refer mostly to longitudinal roof and wall members that are roll formed from galvanized coils. Secondary members used in a PEB include steel purlins, side runners, fascia Channels, door posts, window posts, rafter stays, and column stays base angles and other miscellaneous structural parts.

  • ”Z” sections acting as longitudinal roof purlins and longitudinal wall girts that connect to columns & rafters and support exterior roof and wall panels.
  • "C” sections used primarily in framed openings and as a transition member between partial block walls and wall panels.
  • Steel Deck used to support concrete slabs in second level flooring.
  • Secondary structural framing shall refer to purlins girts, eaves struct, wind bracing, flange bracing, base angles clips and other miscellaneous structural parts.
  • Secondary structural framing shall refer to purlins girts, eaves struct, wind bracing, flange bracing, base angles clips and other miscellaneous structural parts.
  • Eaves struts are formed "C"- sections, 200-300 mm. deep with a 64-100 mm. wide top flange, a 100 mm. wide bottom flange, and both are formed parallel to the roof slope. Each flange has a 20 mm. stiffener.
  • Rod bracing shall have a minimum yield strength of 250 mn/m2 (36000 psi) and will conform to the physical specifications of ASTM A-36 or equivalent. All other miscellaneous secondary members shall have a minimum yield strength of 250 mn/m (36000psi).

Roof and Wall Panels

Roofing & Cladding Systems

PEBs offer you choice of 5 different types of roofing and cladding systems that enhance the aesthetic appeal of the building and are ideally suited for rapid and low cost construction.

  • Typical roof, wall and linear panels shall be color coated 26 gauges, galvanize steel ,ribbed panels ,(other materials and thickness available upon request)
  • Base material for color coated galvanized steel panels shall have minimum yield strength of 345 mn/m (50,000 psi) and will conform to the physical specification of ASTM A-446 or equivalent.
  • The zinc coating is a hot dip galvanization process conforming to ASTM specification A-525 with a coating class of G90 (0.90 0z/ft or 275 g/m) or its equivalent.
  • The painting shall be baked enamel polyester (color blue or gold) with a firm thickness of 1.0 MIL the reverse side shall be white the 0.50 MIL thickness.

Panel Configuration

  • "SHMICO RIB" panel shall have 40 mm. deep major ribs which taper in width from 35 mm to 65 mm, and are spaced 350 mm. on center. Between major ribs is additional minor stiffening ribs spaced at 117 mm. on center. Each panel shall provide one meter coverage.
  • "SHMICO WALL " panel shall have 40 mm deep major ribs which taper in width from 35 mm to 65 mm, and are spaced 350 mm.on center between major ribs are additional minor stiffening ribs spaced at 117 mm on center .Each panel shall provide one meter coverage.
  • "SHMICO DECK” panel shall have 40 mm deep major ribs which taper in width from 35 mm to 65 mm, and are spaced 350 mm. on center .Between major ribs are additional minor stiffening ribs spaced at 117 mm. on center. Each panel shall provide one meter coverage.

Color Finish

  • Unless specified otherwise, all wall and roof panels, flashing, trim and other exposed galvanized steel surfaces shall be color coated.
  • Color of panels and corner trim shall be selected by the customer from AlShahin' s standard colors.
  • The gutter, downspouts, rake trim, eave trim and door flashing shall be white unless otherwise selected from AlShahin' s standard colors.
